Son of a . . . . . .

You would be saying this too if you were getting your tonsils out at age 24. They say its terrible on 'older' people and yes, in this instance, I qualify as 'older'. I am getting them out on Wed., the 23. I will be laid up for a couple of weeks high as a kite, so best save my blogging for when I am back to normal. If there is a normal. . . . . I will let you know how it goes.

The birds and the BEES, literally. . . .

So, this is my first year doing a garden and I have loved it. It is flourishing and I feel so domesticated!!!! I love knowing that I put those seeds in the ground, and wa-la!!! I have deliciousness at my beck and call!!!!
I just have one problem. I have 'prude' female flowers on my pumpkins! They wont open up so the male flowers can cross pollinate with them! I have tried every thing I could think of! I even went out and had the 'sex talk' with them. I told them how it was important to multiply and replenish, but they are stubborn! They are keeping their buds closed TIGHTLY! Anyone know what to do for my shy little female flowers???!!!

4th of July Fun!!!!!!

This year 4th of July was a blast! It is so fun to have a little boy to share the fun with!!!!! We went to Delta and enjoyed just hanging out with the family, playing lots of different games with the fam, and just enjoying the beautiful weather and the great company!
These pictures were taken at the derby. Some of you might think that it is a little white trash, and you are right!!!! But SOOOOOOO much fun! My parents came down again because they loved it so much! Braxton watched intently for most of it. Of course he had his cute cousins and LOTS of candy to keep him happy. This is one of my favorite holidays ever! Thanks Hintze's for such a fun time!

Update on my sweetie

All my friends and family are so good to ask all the time about Eric and his progress with his Leukemia, I just thought instead of telling every one the story fifty times, I would just post it on my blog.
So, starting in January, his counts have slowly but surely been on the rise again. They tested him for a mutation that makes him slightly resistant to the drug he is on and fully resistant to the other drugs out there of this same nature. Unfortunately, he tested positive for this mutation. This was scary for us. Even though his counts have been on the incline since January, he is still technically in remission. And no, remission doesn't mean cured. A lot of people think that is what it means as did I before I was forced to become more educated on the matter.
His dosage had been bumped up to see if that will bring his counts back down. He has noticed a little bit of a side effect with the upped dose, but not any thing to worry about. Just a little bone aches from time to time. He is still feeling great though.
If the medicine doesn't work, his only choice left is to do the bone marrow transplant. This will not be an easy thing for our family. It has been something that we have dreaded from the very beginning and I hate to think that it might have to be done. On the other hand, this is the ONLY cure thus far for his type of cancer so if needs be, this could finally get my sweetie better.
They are watching him closely, and told us not to panic yet. He goes in a couple weeks to check his blood count and see what is going on. I will keep you updated.
Thanks to all the family for the family fast. Your prayers are welcome and much needed. We will get him better! He is such a wonderful person and has such a love for life! Thank you all!

Yeah, so I am a little slow lately. . . . .

I have so much to catch up on! Lots of fun outings, holidays, hair cuts:(, etc. This was Braxtons first Easter egg hunt. He LOVED it. I wasn't sure if he was going to get the concept of finding the eggs and putting them in his basket. He did, well sort of. He ran from egg to egg and instead of setting the egg down nicely in his basket, he 'slam dunked' it into his basket and ran to the next egg. He loved it WAY more than I ever imagined! He did Easter Braxton style for sure! Love you buddy:)
